BAINS SUR LE RHÔNE (1897)

🇬🇧 The Lumière brothers once again filmed short videos of everyday life. In Bains sur le Rhône from 1897, we see a group of young people jumping into the river. For about 40 seconds, we see adults wearing hats while younger boys in bathing suits playfully jump into the water. Although it does not have the same effect as the previous films, this one does a good job of showing the innocence of youth playing traditional games of the time.

Filmed like a documentary, many have criticised the imbalance of the camera, but it is this effect that adds to the charm of the footage. Once again, the Lumière brothers used their art to capture small moments of everyday life.

🇵🇹 Os irmãos Lumière voltam a filmar pequenos vídeos do quotidiano da época. Em Bains sur le rhône de 1897 temos a captura de um grupo de jovens a saltar para o rio. Durante cerca de 40 segundos assistimos a adultos vestidos com chapéu enquanto rapazes mais novos com roupa de banho saltam em tom de brincadeira para a água. Apesar de não ter o mesmo efeito que os filmes anteriores, este apresenta bem a inocência da juventude com brincadeiras tradicionais da época.

Filmado como um documentário, muitos criticaram o desequilíbrio da câmara, mas é esse efeito dá mais charme às filmagens. Novamente os irmãos Lumière a expressar na sua arte pequenos momentos do dia-a-dia.
